SCHOLARSHIPS
CONNECTING CHILDREN TO MAINSTREAM SCHOOLING
Since 2006, Gyanoday has been assisting marginalized children to get into mainstream education by the way of Scholarships (admission to formal Schools). Children are also helped remedially, to cope up with School, so that they are able to stand up to the social and intellectual challenges they face. Assistance is provided in terms of finances. Children are selected, based on merit and also assisted to keep up with their Schools through private tuitions.
THE PROCESS
‣ Students are shortlisted on the basis of merit, and based on the interest, scholarships are given to students to study at regular
schools.
‣ At present, there are 32 different private and government
schools at which nominated students can study.
‣ Gyanoday also provides academic / non-academic support to
the scholars to ensure success at school.
THE IMPACT
In the last two decades, over 20000 children from economically weaker households in the state of Uttar Pradesh have benefited from the full-time scholarships provided by Gyanoday. The scholarship gives these children a platform to seek knowledge, nurture their aspirations and follow their ambitions.
This scholarship program has also become a powerful instrument in transforming the bias against formal mainstream education in certain communities. We envision increasing our capacity to financially support secondary education for more and more children across the state.
