Says Priyanka, “I am trainee of Dayal Gyanoday Vocational Training Centre (Beautician). I belong from a small village.
I lost my father at an early age and the entire responsibility of my family fell on my frail shoulders. I needed immediate source of income to support my family. It was very difficult for me to face the situation. I had to walk a long distance to find transport to reach the town. I realized if I had to earn and support my family I would have to face the hardships. I chose to be an electrician after my intermediate because my uncle worked in an inverter battery repair shop who taught me very patiently. I work in a firm in Meerut. I am also pursuing my BA privately. I came to know about Gyanoday when I was travelling back home one day. Since the past 6 months I am doing the Beautician Course from Gyanoday. We play games everyday for half an hour, where the whole day’s stress vanishes and I am ready for the next day. In Gyanoday we are taught free of charge. The rules laid down for us are simple to follow and the atmosphere is very safe for girls. I thank Gyanoday for encouraging me and supporting me in my rare profession as a lady Electrician.”
